The free, all-ages event will feature live performances from College of Creative Arts and Media faculty, staff and students Saturday (May 30) at Andrew White Guitars in Morgantown.

Drone Day is a global initiative dedicated to honoring experimental music communities worldwide through public performances, collaborative events and livestreamed presentations.

Despite its name, drone music does not involve remote-controlled aircraft. Instead, the genre emphasizes sustained tones, layered textures and immersive sonic environments rooted in minimalist and experimental traditions.

The Morgantown event aims to highlight the region’s creative music community while connecting local performers with a broader global audience.

Mark Benincosa will perform as Black Hole Zion and Erwin Dorsainville, a music business and industry student, as Mango 4th Ridge. Other performers include Jake Sandridge and Jason Zeh. Find more information about Zeh.

Several alumni will also perform.

Martin Chittum and Dan McCoy will assist with operations.
