Following a campus visit and comprehensive evaluation, the Higher Learning Commission determined WVU successfully met all components of the criteria for accreditation as well as all requirements for federal compliance, which is considered the best possible outcome of the review.

Heather Stephens, a WVU regional economist and economic policy expert, will contribute to research on United States rural prosperity through a yearlong collaboration with a Washington think tank as a nonresident senior fellow for the Center for Sustainable Development at the Brookings Institution.
