Nkatha Mercy, a doctoral candidate in the Department of Geology and Geography and community engaged research assistant in the WVU Center for Resilient Communities, has been selected by the American Association of Geographers to participate in its Elevate the Discipline program.

The Center for ActiveWV received a $768,000 grant from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention High Obesity Program to support an existing College of Applied Human Sciences grant and the implementation of the Be Wild, Be Wonderful, Be Healthy: Expanded program.

The Davis College Energy Land Management program will host the second annual Energy, Environment and Excitement Camp through Saturday (July 22). Designed to foster student interest and promote inclusivity in the energy industry, this dynamic educational opportunity aims to introduce students in grades 8-10 to various career paths in the energy sector through engaging workshops and interactive sessions.

WV Writers' Workshop  

The West Virginia Writers’ Workshop, designed to give writers at any stage of their careers the opportunity to improve their craft in a welcoming atmosphere, will take place on the WVU Downtown Campus and on Zoom July 20–23. Register by Saturday (July 15) to attend.
