West Virginia University Institute of Technology and Pendleton Community Bank will announce a formal partnership to support and serve past, current and future Golden Bears at 10:30 a.m. Monday (Aug. 7) at the Robert C. Byrd Learning Resource Center in Beckley.

Harry Guenther will support the greatest needs of the School of Music in perpetuity with a $500,000 planned gift.
Reed College of Media students helped students from Bellaire High School with a year-long photography project to document and explore their surrounding community. Teaching Associate Professor David Smith led the independent study course along with Rebecca Kiger, photojournalist and artist-in-residence at Bellaire High School.
Julia Fraustino, an assistant professor in Advertising and Public Relations, was the recipient of the Faculty Research Award for outstanding scholarly work or creative activity. Heather Cole, a teaching assistant professor in Game Design and Interactive Media, was given the Outstanding Teaching Award for innovative and excellent classroom instruction.
Dr. Matthew Dietz, a longtime clinician-scientist and orthopaedic surgeon who specializes in hip and knee replacements, is now overseeing the School of Medicine Department of Orthopaedics. He has a joint faculty appointment with the Department of Microbiology, Immunology and Cell Biology.
WVU Extension and the Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design are preparing students — on campus and around the state — for future success with gifts from Farm Credit of the Virginias to expand financial literacy, while enhancing undergraduate research opportunities and innovation in agriculture.
