The WVU baseball team has qualified for the NCAA Tournament in consecutive seasons for the first time since 1963-64, and retiring coach Randy Mazey's Mountaineers are doing today what few teams have ever managed to do around here on the baseball diamond.

The baseball team earned an at-large bid to the 2024 NCAA Baseball Championship on Monday and will head to Tucson, Arizona as the No. 3 seed. The Mountaineers will open with No. 2 Dallas Baptist on Friday afternoon.
Golf coach Sean Covich has been named a NCAA Division I finalist for the 2024 Dave Williams Award presented by Golf Pride Grips. Other finalists include Jake Amos of East Tennessee State, Nick Clinard of Auburn, Andrew DiBitetto of North Carolina and Scott Limbaugh of Vanderbilt.
Vanderheyden will travel to the 2024 NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championship on June 5-8 to compete in the women's 3,000-meter steeplechase. This year's championship meet will be held at Hayward Field in Eugene, Oregon.
WVU made its second NCAA Championships appearance and set a program record with its 28th-place finish.
Named the sixth head coach at WVU, Brent MacDonald served as the head coach of the Xavier men's and women's swimming program since 2009. During his tenure at Xavier, the men's swimming team won six Big East Championships, including four championships in six years.
