The WVU Canady Chamber Series will kick off with Ranky Tanky, the 2019 and 2023 Grammy award winners for Best Regional Roots Album, who will bring their West African-rooted Gullah music from South Carolina Lowcountry to Morgantown at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 1).

Chantelle Moore, vice president of sales and marketing for Hutchinson Industries Defense and Mobility Solutions, will deliver the annual lecture in the Industrial and Management Systems Engineering Department at 3:30 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 2) in the Mineral Resources Building, Room 113.
WVU welcomed more than 1,000 students from 50 K-12 schools across the region on Friday (Oct. 27) to test their engineering skills at the Pumpkin Drop event hosted by the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources. Of the 243 pumpkins launched from the roof of the Engineering Sciences Building, only 47 survived the 11-story drop. Event proceeds benefit Ronald McDonald House Morgantown.
Steve Miller, board-certified master arborist and certified tree care safety specialist for Bartlett Tree Experts, will discuss the care, transplanting and final relocation of the tree back to the Ground Zero site in New York City at 4 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 14, in Percival Hall, Room 334.
Families will have the opportunity to meet the teaching horses dressed in Halloween costumes from 2-4 p.m. tomorrow (Oct. 28) at the J.W. Ruby Research, Education and Outreach Center in Reedsville. Children can trick or treat, and prizes will be awarded for the most original, scariest and funniest family costumes.
