In early August, the new MyWVU Portal will become the front door for all undergraduate and graduate applications, streamlining and simplifying the student experience with a single process for all WVU campuses.
Starting with the Spring 2026 term, all incoming students systemwide will use the new platform to apply for admission.
This expansion builds on a successful soft launch with High School Access students and will eventually let prospective students receive personalized communication, seamlessly register for events and schedule visits.
Student Experience is one of four workstreams in the WVU Modernization Program, a multi-year initiative to redesign the way the University does business, and improve experiences for students, faculty and staff.
Today’s higher education landscape is a much more competitive and fast-paced environment than when the current set of WVU tools and business processes were created. To remain competitive, the University needs systems and processes that let us innovate in ways that support students and help them easily and intuitively navigate WVU admission processes.
Enrollment Management personnel will be trained for the transition to the Salesforce Learner Org platform in the coming months. Undergraduate college recruiters, WVU Potomac State College, WVU Tech and WVU Online can expect to receive training between May and July. Those involved with the graduate-level “out to department” process will be trained in early September.
The old TargetX admissions application will be decommissioned in late August. However, licensed staff will retain access to the system through December, and some employees may be working in both systems for a short period.
