The Office of Sustainability will host a book recycling collection during the week of March 16 to help the University community recycle hardback books, which are not accepted in the daily recycling program.
This recycling effort is primarily intended for hardback books, but individuals may also include paperback books, journals, magazines and pamphlets as long as they are boxed separately from the hardback books and clearly labeled “PAPER” on the outside of the box.
Offices and teams should collect their items to be recycled, box them up and fill out the request form before March 11.
Employees based on the Health Sciences area of campus do not need to submit the request form. Instead, they can drop off boxes in the Health Sciences Center, Room G351A, before March 13.
For those who would like to recycle personally owned books, a public drop-off location will be available in the Mountaineer Station lobby from 5 a.m. to 8 p.m. March 11-13.
This service is offered only once per year, so units are strongly encouraged to take advantage of this recycling opportunity.
Please note, this book recycling collection opportunity does not include confidential document shredding needs.
