Alum’s fashion frustration creates 8-figure brand

Nesha Sanghavi, a John Chambers College of Business and Economics alum and former WVU cheerleader, founded chicka-d in her parents’ garage to create more fashionable WVU women’s clothes.

Today, the company operates across both the college licensing market and a growing wholesale business carried in boutiques, resort shops, and national retailers.

Sanghavi now leads an all-women design team and a staff of 50.
