New student employment hiring process launching next month

student employment

WVU Career Services and Student Financial Services are launching a new student employment process in February.

Starting Feb. 1, all supervisors and hiring managers will be required to submit their regular student employment and Federal Work-Study job postings in Handshake using the Student Employment Job Posting Request form

This is a WVU System-wide change affecting all campuses.

Supervisors do not need a Handshake account, but will use the form to submit all regular and federal work-study job posting requests to Handshake. Positions will be reviewed and posted in Handshake within two business days.

The new process will create a more meaningful experience for students by having all opportunities in one job search platform. Additionally, the new process will allow WVU to comply with federal hiring guidelines to ensure all federal work-study funds are awarded efficiently and improve the student employment process to address wage equity and fairness.
