Faster workflows and new name-pronunciation feature coming with eCampus navigation upgrade

ecampus logo

A planned May 12 upgrade to eCampus navigation will save time with simpler workflows and easier access to important information through a sleek new left-hand menu. Both instructors and students also will be able to use a new feature that lets you provide both text guidance and an audio recording to ensure the proper pronunciation of your name

This upgrade will require a system outage 8 a.m.-noon Thursday, May 12, so instructors should prepare accordingly. Information Technology Services understands there is no good time for an eCampus outage. This date was selected because it is after spring semester final grades have been published and before the start of the summer session on Monday, May 16.

This upgrade won’t change your courses, which will look and function as they do now. However, the location of some tools (SEI, Qwickly Course Tools) will change. You can also continue building courses for summer and fall development shells without any disruption.

The navigation bar, which works well on mobile devices, will include links to new pages such as the Activity Stream, Calendar and Messages. After this upgrade, any photos you have previously uploaded to your profile will appear more broadly across the eCampus system, such as in Discussion Board threads. If you want to remove your photo, it will be replaced by a standard system icon.
