Mark your calendars March 15-16 for upcoming Campus Conversations on moving WVU’s culture forward. The discussions will focus on the aggregate results from recent WVU Culture Surveys and actions the University is taking in response to the findings. Cris DeBord, vice president of Talent and Culture, and Sharon Martin, vice president of University Relations and Enrollment Management, will co-facilitate the discussions.

Join WVU’s Teaching & Learning Commons Friday (March 16) from 10 a.m. to noon at the Evansdale Library (Ground Floor) to explore our pot o’ gold full of educational tools. Learn how to annotate your teaching through a touch monitor, break away from the lectern using our wireless presentation system and connect with others outside the classroom using our new web conferencing prototype.

This month we will hear from Joy Carr and MaryBeth Angeline regarding changes and updates to the ALEKS placement exam, Marcedes Minana from Adventure WV First Year Programs will highlight changes to those programs that are anticipated to be our largest and Taylor Richmond will be back to demo the new TESS program and highlight changes to the online transfer equivalency program and protocol.

An active music arranger with nearly 300 titles and arrangements for marching bands across the country will assume the role as associate director of bands at West Virginia University, the College of Creative Arts announced Wednesday (March 14). With his appointment effective August 1, Stephen Lytle will become the 12th director of the beloved Pride of West Virginia Mountaineer Marching Band. Lytle is currently the associate director of bands at Miami University in Ohio.

Members of the Western Equestrian Team are busily preparing to host – and compete in – the Intercollegiate Horse Show Association Western Semi-Finals. The event is set for March 17-18 at the J.W. Ruby Research Farm in Reedsville, and marks two major milestones for the university and its equine studies program.
