West Virginia University will host two commencement ceremonies Saturday, Dec. 15 at the WVU Coliseum.
WVU President Gordon Gee will deliver welcome remarks during the 10 a.m. ceremony. Dr. Judie Charlton, chief medical officer and professor in the School of Medicine, will present the keynote address.
Jack Furst, a distinguished private equity investor and adjunct professor at The University of North Texas, will be awarded a presidential honorary degree during the 2 p.m. ceremony. Furst will deliver the keynote address. He is a Distinguished Eagle Scout and an executive board member and officer of Boy Scouts of America (National Council).
Gee will welcome graduates and guests and present a second presidential honorary degree to Donald Hoylman, founder of Industrial Resources, Inc. of Fairmont.
Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs Joyce McConnell will present the degree candidates at the morning and afternoon ceremonies.
John Chambers College of Business and Economics and Eberly College of Arts and Sciences students will graduate at the 2 p.m. ceremony. Students from all other colleges and schools will graduate at 10 a.m.
Gold and Blue Student Ambassadors and University volunteers will be on-site to assist guests. Additional information, including maps and parking, is available at graduation.wvu.edu.
