To make way for renovations, the Chick-fil-A, Saikou Sushi, Burger King and Sbarro Mountainlair locations will close beginning Wednesday (June 20).
As previously shared, West Virginia University recently partnered with Sodexo to assume operation of the University’s Dining Services program. The partnership calls for significant facility upgrades to dining locations across the WVU System beginning this summer and continuing throughout the next several years.
The first phase of these enhancements will focus on the Mountainlair food court area. Updates will include:
Expansion of Chick-fil-A;
Blue Tomato, which will offer a variety of gourmet pizza selections, will replace Saikou Sushi;
Burger Shop, which will offer fresh burgers, hand-cut fries, a free toppings bar and more, will replace Burger King; and
Tres Habaneros, which will offer burritos, tacos and other Tex-Mex favorites, will replace Sbarro.
These updated Mountainlair dining offerings will open early this fall. However, to make way for these renovations, the Chick-fil-A, Saikou Sushi, Burger King and Sbarro Mountainlair locations will close beginning Wednesday (June 20).
The following Mountainlair dining locations will continue to operate throughout the renovation period:
J.A.C.S. Convenience Store,
Taziki’s, and
Corey Farris, dean of students, said, “We are really excited by these updates, which support our goal of meeting the ever-changing dining needs of our students – as well as our faculty and staff – by offering them healthier, more diverse and refreshed dining options.”
David Friend, executive director of Dining Services, said, “We appreciate everyone’s patience as we begin making these updates to the Mountainlair food court area. We are working to complete these renovations as quickly as possible to minimize any disruptions to students, faculty and staff and visitors.”
