Women Making History Exhibit  

The West Virginia and Regional History Center extends an open invitation to help commemorate the closing of “Women Making History: Showcasing the West Virginia Feminist Activist Collection” from 2-4 p.m. tomorrow (May 17).

Pumpkin Seeds  

Free pumpkin seeds are available at more than 70 local libraries throughout West Virginia, thanks to the Grow This: West Virginia Garden Challenge from the WVU Extension Family Nutrition Program. According to this year’s WVU Extension Garden Calendar, May 23 is the first day to plant pumpkin seeds in the Mountain State.

Chambers College Graduates  

Inspired by the words of honorary doctorate recipients Maggie Hardy, owner of Nemacolin and 84 Lumber, and Karen S. Evans, managing director of the Cyber Readiness Institute, more than 700 Chambers College undergraduate and graduate students were awarded degrees on May 11.

School of Nursing Students  

The School of Nursing is working to educate more nurses amid a nationwide shortage caused by changing demographics, greater demand for health care, a rise in retirements and other factors. The Bedford Falls grant will provide student scholarships and faculty support for four programs aimed at producing well-trained nurses to meet health care needs in West Virginia and beyond.

The WVU community is invited to learn about the positive effects of meditation on the mind and body during a four-part series beginning at noon today (May 16) and continuing monthly through August.
