During her undergraduate years in California, Hannah Teddleton conducted research on sheep nutrition but knew it wasn’t quite what she wanted to do. She chose to pursue her passion at WVU and found success — and her calling — in animal science research.

University researchers are looking for healthy adults with physically active jobs to participate in a research study which is seeking to understand the effects of physical activity at work on cardiovascular health. All participants who complete the study will receive up to $150 as compensation.
A National Endowment for the Humanities Summer Stipend will support Erin Brock Carlson, assistant professor of English, in completing her book “Hauled Away: How Rural Appalachians Leverage Place in the Face of Extraction,” which draws on community-based research projects conducted by Carlson in Appalachia since 2018.
This year’s theme, “Building the Best for the WVU Cancer Institute,” highlighted collaborative efforts and recent successes to achieve the state’s first National Cancer Institute designation and construct a new cancer hospital. The event raised more than $1.1 million to support cancer care, research and outreach.
The first three modules of the new WVU Research Administration Portal — Grants, Agreements and Conflict of Interest — are expected to go live in January 2025. These modules are integrated to help decrease duplicative data entry, expedite approval time and improve transparency of submission status.
