The first assembly of the Faculty International Group will meet Friday (Feb. 2), from 4 p.m. to 5 p.m. in rooms 110 and 111 Erickson Alumni Center.
This class uses mindful movement with a focus on proper alignment, breaking poses down into easily digestible parts and providing modifications to help you experience each pose in a way that best works with your body. A holistic yoga approach including asana (poses), pranayama (breath), mindfulness, meditation, and yogic philosophy is woven into each class in an easy-to-understand, personal way.
WVU Press and the Humanities Center will host an event to celebrate the new edition of Muriel Rukeyser's collection of documentary poems, “The Book of the Dead” Thursday (Feb.1) from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. in Colson Hall 130.
West Virginia University alumni, faculty and students will take the stage in March as part of the first campus TEDx Talk. Themed “Leading with Hope in a Changing World,” the full-day conference will feature culturally relevant topics and boasts a line-up of locally high-brow influencers. TEDX WVU takes place at Evandsdale Crossing in the Reed College of Media’s Media Innovation Center March 2 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Beginning Group Piano for Kids classes start Tuesday (Jan. 30) through the Community Music Program at the School of Music. This class provides the stimulation of a group environment with the individual attention of private instruction as a fun effective approach to learning piano.
