Safety and Health Extension is offering confined space training to WVU employees. Sessions are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. and noon to 3 p.m. on both March 20 and March 22 in Lyon Tower room G08.

WVU President Gordon Gee will deliver a State of the University address Tuesday (Feb. 27) at 3 p.m. at the Ruby Grand Hall, Erickson Alumni Center. Faculty, staff and students are encouraged to use the PRT, buses or carpool to the event.
Students in the WVU College of Creative Arts perform more than 300 events per year in many venues across campus, Morgantown and the state. Many of the events are free to the public and family friendly.
Students from West Upward Bound, Student Support Services and previously funded McNair Scholars programs will participate in team-building and community service activities as part of National TRIO Day Saturday (Feb. 24). The day enables students who have benefitted from TRIO programs to give back to their communities.
WVU is hosting more than 325 Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts from four states Saturday (Feb. 24) for an on-campus experience at “Merit Badge University.” This day-long event is both educational and fun-filled. Scouts, ages 11-17, take classes just like undergraduates, working with faculty and staff in 20 topic areas that are merit badges, ranging from Robotics to Cooking to Nuclear Science, and including Citizenship, First Aid and Dentistry, among many others.
The David C. Hardesty Jr. Festival of Ideas presents a talk by public historian Elizabeth Catte, T February 27 at 7:30 p.m. in room G15 of the Life Sciences Building on the downtown campus. The event is open to the public and co-sponsored by the WVU Humanities Center and West Virginia University Press.
