Free oral health screenings will be offered to Veterans as well as active-duty, National Guard and Reserve members on a first come, first served basis from 8:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. Nov. 11 at the dental clinics in the Health Sciences Center.

Dr. Sally Hodder, director of the West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute, University associate vice president for clinical and translational science and Chancellor’s Preeminent Scholar Chair, was elected to the National Academy of Medicine for her accomplishments as an infectious diseases physician and researcher. She is the first person from WVU to be chosen for the National Academy of Medicine.

When Rich Ashburn discovered a gifted and talented magnet school during his search for a student teaching position, the alumnus had no idea it would affect the path of his future career. Although his work mainly resides in elementary schools, he still applies his public health skills in order to foster a healthy environment for young students to learn.
