Grand Rounds to feature prominent female health care leaders for International Women’s Day

Grand Rounds Panelists

International Women’s Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural and political achievements of women — marking a call to action for accelerating gender parity.

The School of Public Health MHA Administrative Grand Rounds will feature prominent female community health care leaders Karen Bowling and Melissa Lockwood as they talk about the day-to-day challenges they face while running Critical Access Hospitals in rural areas of the state at noon March 8 on Zoom.

For more than 25 years, the 340B Drug Pricing Program has helped West Virginia hospitals and health systems serving vulnerable patients and communities manage rising prescription drug costs. The program, which also benefits federally qualified health centers and other safety net providers in the state, is currently under attack by several of the largest U.S. drug manufacturers — potentially affecting access to health services and prescription drugs for all West Virginians. Critical Access Hospitals create many advantages but also have various unique challenges.
