The Center for Excellence in STEM Education, along with the Center for Gravitational Waves and Cosmology and WVU Extension Service are hosting a public Hour of Code event Dec. 1 from 1 p.m. - 4 p.m. in White Hall.

WVU will host the 33rd Annual Family Holiday Celebration Dec. 1 from 10 a.m.- noon. in the Mountainlair Ballrooms. Children of the University’s regular full-time and part-time employees, as well as children of graduate assistants are invited to join in various crafts, games, a holiday story follow along video and a chance to visit with Santa.

A panel presentation on understanding LGBTQ+ students and communities will be presented by Dr. Cris Mayo, Monongalia County Teacher Sandy Davis and a high school student panel Nov. 26 from 7 to 8 p.m. in room 316 Percival Hall.

Toy Mountain will be constructed from community donations until Dec. 11 in the Mountainlair. WVU faculty, staff and students are encouraged to help by donating unwrapped toys valued at $5 or more.

The VISTA Collaborative is hosting a Stuff-The-Van food drive for Empty Bowls Monongalia through Friday in honor of National Hunger and Homelessness Week. Bring your non-perishable items for drop-off in front of the Mountainlair from 10 a.m.- 2 p.m.

Day of Giving graphic  

The University is holding its second annual Day of Giving today (Nov. 14). The 24-hour online event raises money for scholarships and the greatest needs of WVU and individual colleges and schools. You’re encouraged to make gifts and sign donor thank you cards at the Mountainlair, Evansdale Crossing and Health Sciences Center pylons area from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. today on the Morgantown Campus. A special Day of Giving event is also being held at WVU Tech in Beckley at the Chick-fil-a on Eisenhower Drive from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
