As cooler temperatures arrive and the landscape changes across the region, University health experts and care providers encourage residents to practice prevention to promote health and safety in communities statewide in preparation for respiratory illness season.

Family Medicine Grand Rounds will host Dr. Tejas Joshi, assistant professor and director of liver diseases at Marshall University, as he presents on metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease from 8-9 a.m. Friday (Oct. 11) on Microsoft Teams.
The project, called Students Teams of Astrophysics Researchers — Undergraduate Pathways, is funded by the National Science Foundation’s Partnerships in Astronomy and Astrophysics Research and Education initiative, which is expanding and diversifying the astronomy community by building more pathways for students to get into astronomy and astrophysics.
The series will kick off at 11:30 a.m. Friday, Oct. 18, at the Coliseum, Clark Mountaineer Club. Attendees can enjoy lunch and non-alcoholic beverages, an opportunity to meet current athletic coaches and administrators, and a program hosted by Tony Caridi.
Freshman golfer Nick Turowski won the Red Flash Invitational at Sunnehanna Country Club in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Tuesday (Oct. 8). A native of Harrison City, Pennsylvania, Turkowski was the only player under par in the field, finishing -1 in the 36-hole event.
