After careful consideration, West Virginia University has elected to forgo participation in the payroll tax deferral program. This decision was based in part on concern of the potential detrimental impact to our employees when the repayment of Social Security tax would be collected during the January through April 2021 time period.

In-person classes will be canceled on West Virginia University’s Morgantown campus Tuesday, Sept. 8. Online classes will continue as usual, as will University operations. Staff and faculty should report to work as usual. Beginning Wednesday, Sept. 9, all undergraduate courses in Morgantown, with the exception of those Health Sciences courses with students already engaged in clinical rotation, will move online through Friday, Sept. 25. Graduate and professional courses will continue to be offered in person.

In an effort to help the campus and surrounding community better understand positive test results, monitoring and response protocols, West Virginia University is providing additional data to its COVID-19 testing dashboard.
WVU has scheduled hearings that could result in suspension or expulsion for three students who have a history of repeated violations as part of ongoing investigations related to COVID-19 and violations of the Student Code of Conduct.
