MLK Unity Breakfast 2024  

Join the Center for Black Culture in honoring the life of Martin Luther King Jr. at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 18, in the Mountainlair Ballrooms. Tiffany Dena Loftin, activist and community organizer, is the keynote speaker.

Than Saffel  

As it commemorates 25 years of publishing excellence, the West Virginia University Press is also celebrating new leadership with the announcement of Than Saffel, who has led in an interim capacity since September 2023, as the new director.

Jay Manown Story  

Preston County native Jay Manown’s college career at WVU was cut short just before his graduation when he was drafted into World War II. He became a naval flight instructor, and on Sept. 10, 1944, the Japanese hit the belly of his plane, sending it in a violent spiral into the sea. His plane and the bodies of the crew were recovered 10 years ago.

Public Health Grand Rounds  

The School of Public Health Master of Health Administration program and WVU Graduate Chapter of Upsilon Phi Delta will host Administrative Grand Rounds at noon Friday (Nov. 15) on Zoom. An expert panel will explore the effects of the state and national election on health care issues.
