A three-time West Virginia University graduate who has completed her term as the first African-American woman president of the American Medical Association will join the WVU Board of Governors.

West Virginia University Board of Governors Chairman David Alvarez began Friday’s (July 24) special meeting by welcoming Chase Riggs, who replaces Kate Dye as the student representative, as well as Dr. Patrice Harris, who was appointed to the BOG earlier in the day by Gov. Jim Justice. Harris replaces JR Rogers with a term that expires June 30, 2024.
