In the year since the COVID-19 pandemic began, West Virginia University alumni and friends have contributed over $18.1 million to ensure students can achieve their dreams by enrolling at WVU or proceeding with their education.

From classrooms and laboratories to residence halls, meeting rooms and a variety of nearby shops and restaurants, West Virginia University is focused on fostering a more inclusive environment for students, faculty and staff that extends across the University and beyond. As part of that effort, WVU is highlighting new initiatives, as well as current programs to increase awareness.
The West Virginia Bureau for Public Health is recommending that close contacts of an individual who has tested positive for a COVID-19 virus variant should be quarantined for a full 14 days due to the increased transmission of the variants. University officials will follow this recommendation.
This statement is to share our concerns and strong opposition to House Bill 3293, a bill that proposes to ban transgender students from participating in single-sex sports in West Virginia’s secondary schools. As advocates for the transgender community, we are very concerned about the negative and harmful consequences that come from dangerous and unnecessary legislation like House Bill 3293.
The Office of the Provost’s “Transform This! Challenge Grants” are back for another round of inspiring initiatives. Interested applicants must submit their projects online by 11:59 p.m. Friday (March 26).
The West Virginia University Dependent Education Scholarship Summer 2021 applications are due by April 1 and Fall 2021 applications by May 1.
