The smell of apple butter simmering over a wood fire and the peaceful sound of dulcimer music will soon fill the air. The 78th annual Mountaineer Week celebration of Appalachian heritage begins Monday (Nov. 3) and continues through Sunday, Nov. 9.
A pop-up event, “Fall into WVU” will feature a massive leaf pile, games, photo ops with the large “Let’s Go!” letters and more from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. today (Oct. 27) in Woodburn Circle.
Students will have the opportunity to meet local landlords, explore their housing options and enter to win a one year parking permit from 10 a.m to 3 p.m. Wednesday (Oct. 29) in the Mountainlair Ballrooms.
The concert will feature special lighting and effects, with ensembles performing in a “prism” style and staged in various locations around the theatre at 7:30 p.m. Thursday (Oct. 30) in the Canady Creative Arts Center, Lyell B. Clay Concert Theatre.
The Honors College will host a series of events centered around this year’s Campus Read, “James” by Percival Everett, a retelling of Mark Twain’s classic 1884 novel “Adventures of Huckleberry Finn.”
