WVU researchers now have access to a fast, reliable and secure centralized storage system through Information Technology Services. Researchers can easily access files in the Research Data Depot from the Spruce Knob HPC cluster and their desktop computers via a network share, Globus Online or SFTP.

The West Virginia Clinical and Translational Science Institute will host a webinar “Team Science 101” from noon to 1 p.m. Nov. 10. The webinar is presented by Darshana Shah, Ph.D., associate dean with the Marshall University Office of Faculty Affairs and Professional Development.

Julie Brefczynski-Lewis, an assistant professor in the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute, provided insights into neuroimaging during a collaborative effort to improve mindfulness research.  

The mindfulness movement has grown in popularity over the past two decades, but research on its effectiveness is still catching up. According to a West Virginia University neuroscientist, increasing the precision of mindfulness research can multiply the potential benefits that meditation and similar practices impart.

Colin Komar, a 2015 Ph.D. graduate from the Department of Physics and Astronomy, won an international dissertation award for his work while a graduate student at WVU.
