West Virginia University and Southern West Virginia Community and Technical College are joining forces to launch WVU Degree Up — a first-of-its-kind program in West Virginia designed to make it easier for students to transition from community and technical college to the WVU System.

The Morgantown Municipal Airport recently announced travelers can now book United Express flights, operated by SkyWest Airlines, from Morgantown to Washington, D.C. and Chicago. Flights are available for booking now, with service beginning Dec. 14.
Daniel McDonald, a senior mechanical engineering major and Morgantown native, is a finalist for the prestigious British Marshall Scholarship which offers more than 40 young Americans the opportunity to study in the United Kingdom for up to three years.

Preston County native Jay Manown’s college career at WVU was cut short just before his graduation when he was drafted into World War II. He became a naval flight instructor, and on Sept. 10, 1944, the Japanese hit the belly of his plane, sending it in a violent spiral into the sea. His plane and the bodies of the crew were recovered 10 years ago.
