A WVU-hosted event will provide unprecedented access to renowned professionals in the fields of strength and conditioning and sport science. The second annual workshop, April 13 from 8 a.m.-5 p.m., at the WVU Erickson Alumni Center will feature speakers typically found on national platforms. Attendees will have an exclusive look at the new applied sport science center located at the WVU Rockefeller Neuroscience Institute Human Performance Innovation Center.

Erik Herron, the Eberly Family Professor of Political Science and his collaborators, are researching the vulnerability of states that border a hostile, larger power and how that proximity affects the ability of those countries to provide basic services to their people. In this case, that power is Russia.

Joseph Sullivan, a sophomore computer science major, has been awarded a summer internship with the German Academic Exchange Service – or DAAD – Research Internships in Science and Engineering program. Sullivan is the first WVU student to be awarded this opportunity.

RoundUp is the most widely used synthetic herbicide. The commercialization of RoundUp-resistant crops continues to increase the use of RoundUp. But how does RoundUp work? What are the impacts on the environment, food, and human health? Jen Gallagher and her lab at WVU are working on NSF-funded research to answer these questions.
