March Science on Tap features research on common herbicide RoundUp

The Science on Tap logo.

RoundUp is the most widely used synthetic herbicide. The commercialization of RoundUp-resistant crops continues to increase the use of RoundUp. But how does RoundUp work? What are the impacts on the environment, food, and human health? Jen Gallagher and her lab at WVU are working on NSF-funded research to answer these questions. Come order some delicious food and drink, then hear Gallagher present her research at Morgantown Brewing Company (1291 University Ave) Wednesday (March 20) at 7 p.m.

Plus, why are cancer patients winning historic lawsuits?

Science on Tap is a monthly event sponsored by WVU’s IGERT REN program and by the WVU Center for Excellence in STEM Education, with the goal of bringing locally relevant science news to the general public. Science on Tap presentations do not require advanced science training to understand and – unlike traditional science lectures – take place in a casual environment where the community can rub elbows with the distinguished speakers.
