The WVU Alert system, used to communicate with the University community during emergencies, inclement weather and other incidents, will be tested for the Morgantown, Keyser and Beckley campuses at 1 p.m. tomorrow (Aug. 29). In addition to notifications through email and text, the test will include push notifications to those who have downloaded the LiveSafe mobile app and allowed such notifications.

The Office of the Provost is accepting nominations of candidates for honorary doctoral degrees at WVU to be awarded at Commencement exercises in May 2025. Nomination packets are due to the Office of the Provost by Friday, Oct. 4.
Faculty are asked to sign their accommodation letters within seven days of receipt. That means any faculty member who received an accommodation letter by or before the first day of classes should plan to sign that letter no later than today (Aug. 28).

The Department of History has been selected to host Anna Fenyvesi, a Fulbright Research Scholar from Hungary who will study the heritage of Appalachian Hungarians, mostly those who settled in the region from 1880 until 1924.
