In this hands-on Research Commons workshop, participants will learn the basics of Tableau Public, including how to import data into Tableau, design simple worksheets, combine worksheets into an interactive dashboard, and share visualizations with others. Join us for a colloquium on the rapidly developing field of Artificial Intelligence given by alum Gavin Hall today (Oct. 25) at 2:30 p.m in G09 in White Hall on the Downtown Campus. Hall’s talk is titled First Principles AI at Tesla.

Cara Sedney and Treah Haggerty  

Treah Haggerty and Cara Sedney—researchers in the School of Medicine—are studying how a new West Virginia law has changed the way healthcare providers prescribe opioids. Working with the state’s Board of Pharmacy, they’re examining prescription practices before and after the law took effect on June 7, 2018, and pinpointing differences.

The Research Center on Violence will present a panel, "You Can Do Sociology Anywhere," Oct. 28 at 1 p.m. in 104 Downtown Campus Library. Henry Brownstein and Rosemary Gido have navigated research careers in both academic and government agency settings.
