David Klinke, a researcher with the School of Medicine and Cancer Institute, is deciphering the contents of exosomes that cancer cells release. Studying the information exosomes contain and how they influence other cells may suggest new targets for cancer immunotherapy.
This introductory text mining workshop, with two opportunities to attend, will demonstrate common methods and tools used in this area of scholarship. Participants will get hands on experience using the text analysis tools provided by the Hathitrust Research Center and using command line to run basic text analysis with PythonAnywhere.
This free Research Commons workshop covers everything you need to know to develop a successful poster presentation, including best practices for poster design, how to engage with attendees and tips for creating effective handouts. Carla Brigandi, assistant professor at the College of Education and Human Services, believes that the number of identified "gifted" students in West Virginia’s is not representative of the talent in our local communities. The real issue is that students with gifts and talents aren’t being identified as such.
Faculty members are asked to encourage their undergraduate researchers to submit abstracts for poster presentation to the 17th annual West Virginia Undergraduate Research Day at the Capitol event to be held on Feb. 7, 2020, at the Capitol Building in Charleston. Abstracts should be submitted before midnight Friday (Nov. 1).
