Men's basketball coach Bob Huggins is once again competing in the 2019 Infiniti Coaches' Charity Challenge. Huggins is competing against 47 other basketball coaches nationwide, all vying for the opportunity to raise money for their favorite charities. Each vote helps Coach Huggins advance closer to the $360,000 grand prize to benefit the Norma Mae Huggins Cancer Research Endowment at the WVU Cancer Institute. The coach finishing in second place will receive $150,000 and third place will receive $90,000.

Neal Brown has announced that Jordan Lesley will join the Mountaineer coaching staff as an assistant coach on the defensive side. Lesley comes with Brown and defensive coordinator Vic Koenning after serving as an assistant coach at Troy for the last three years, the first two years as the defensive tackles coach and the 2018 season as the defensive line coach.

Neal Brown has announced that Chad Scott will join the Mountaineer coaching staff as an assistant coach on the offensive side. Brown will announce the staff assignments at a later time. Scott is reunited with Brown after working with him during three different coaching tenures at Kentucky, Texas Tech and Troy. He comes to Morgantown after serving as the tight ends and hybrids coach at North Carolina since 2016.

In the spirit of the Valentine’s Day season the WVU LaunchLab, in conjunction with the WVU IDEA Hub, will host the I Heart IDEA Hub Pitch Challenge Feb.13 at 5 p.m. in Room 413, Evansdale Crossing. Applications for the I Heart IDEA Hub Pitch Challenge open today (Jan. 14) and close Jan. 28.

Check out cardio, strength, aquatic and mind-body group fitness classes at the Student Rec Center this semester. Classes are offered seven days a week with start-times ranging from 6:15 a.m. to 8 p.m. and most require no registration.
