As principal flutist and woodwind section leader in the United States Navy Band, Margaret “Peggy” Bair nurtured every wind player who joined the band, from their audition to the day she retired. Outside the band, Bair taught flute lessons and workshops to young adults hoping to become professional musicians. Now, Bair’s guiding nature will live on in the Margaret “Peggy” Bair Endowed Music Scholarship.

The free program is designed to connect K-12 students with STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and mathematics) concepts. It brings youngsters in for an afternoon of learning, where they explore everything from how to handle money and gardening to piloting drones and coding.

William Way, Sport and Exercise Psychology doctoral student, participated in the CPASS 2018 Student Research Day. Way won first place in the Graduate Ethics category.

Jake Hong joined the Mountaineer staff in July of 2017, helping lead the WVU volleyball program to a solid list of "firsts" in his first season. West Virginia collected 21 wins for the first time since 1991 and advanced to the postseason for the second time in program history, reaching the National Invitational Volleyball Championship Semifinals.
