The West Virginia University Board of Governors continued its work Friday on the process of enacting new policies and procedures in the wake of the state Legislature’s adoption of laws permitting more independence from the state Higher Education Policy Commission.

 

The Office of the Provost is now accepting applications for the Big 12 Faculty Fellowship Program, which offers faculty members at institutions in the Big 12 Conference the opportunity to travel to other member institutions to pursue collaborative research in a variety of ways. Applications will be accepted through June 15.

After an extensive, nationwide search, WVU Tech has announced the installment of Dr. Joan Neff as the new provost for the Beckley campus. Neff will oversee the institution’s academic efforts, working alongside the academic deans and faculty to maintain and enhance the quality of academic programs, implement innovation in the classroom and encourage the professional development of WVU Tech’s instructors.

Dana Dandeneau, who earned his Master of Public Health degree in Epidemiology last week, will begin a prestigious post-graduate Fellowship with the North Carolina Division of Public Health. He is the first WVU student to be selected for the Council of State and Territorial Epidemiologists Applied Epidemiology Fellowship.
