Kim Floyd Award  

Kim Floyd, professor in the College of Applied Human Sciences, was honored by Rural Special Education Quarterly as a co-author of the 2024 Article of the Year. “What Do Rural Special Education Teachers Say?: Examining the Reported Needs and Recommendations for Retention” was selected by the journal’s editorial team for its impact, citations and readership.

The West Virginia Rural Health Association is now accepting proposals for the 2025 Annual Conference which will be held Nov. 12-14 in Huntington. The theme of this year’s event is “Building Bridges — Amplifying Rural Perspectives in Healthcare.”

Last Chance Track Meet  

The track and field team wrapped up the regular season Saturday (May 10) during the WVU Last Chance Meet at the Track and Field Complex at Mylan Park. The Mountaineers totaled seven event wins on the day, including a clean sweep in the women’s 1,500 meters.
