Teaching and Service award Recipients  

Recognized for their exceptional teaching and service to the University, students and community, Brian Luskey is the recipient of the Caperton Award for Excellence in the Teaching of Writing, Zona Hutson is the recipient of the Ethel and Gerry Heebink Award for Distinguished State Service, and Julia Fraustino has been named the 2024 recipient of the James and Karen Caveney Alumni Association Faculty Excellence Award.

Coopers Rock State Forest  

Teachers Ascend into West Virginia, inspired and modeled by the success of Ascend West Virginia and other nationwide rural teacher corps initiatives, is a two-year relocation program that invites qualifying teachers from across the country to move to West Virginia, teach in select K-12 schools, and find a meaningful work-life balance through shared community and outdoor adventure.

Advising Survey  

The Academic Advising Council will circulate a brief survey to undergraduate students via their MIX accounts to gain insights on their academic advising experience starting today (March 8).

Data Driven WV Chambers College  

This initiative, backed by the Office of the Provost, seeks to empower faculty with resources to integrate advanced data analytics and cloud computing into their curricula, enhancing student skills in critical thinking, problem-solving and innovation.
