Jai-Leen James, a recipient of the 2021 IMC/DMC scholarship, is already reaping the benefits of knowledge gained in the College’s online Digital Marketing Communication master’s program. She is pairing journalism fundamentals with web analytics and data obtained from search engine optimization and social media to “amplify voices of those less fortunate.”

WVU sport management students have learned firsthand how to combine data analytics and technology within sports. The students partnered with Athstat, an international application service, to compile data analytics and technology in the sport of rugby during the virtual marketing project.
Planted in the John Chambers College of Business and Economics, Seed WV is a virtual contest open to West Virginia residents, innovators, entrepreneurs, businesses and non-profits. Up to $15,000 in prize money will be awarded to winning ideas to help move them to market.
