Five incoming freshmen eager to find solutions that will change their communities and the world for the better have been named 2023-24 West Virginia University Foundation Scholars, the highest academic scholarship the University awards.
Megan Midcap, WVU Extension youth development agent in Lewis County, recently received the Ethel and Gerry Heebink Award for Distinguished State Service, which recognizes faculty or staff who have provided distinguished service to West Virginia over a period of time.
This year's recipients of the Order of Augusta, the most prestigious West Virginia University student award, are among the 52 students selected as WVU Foundation Outstanding Seniors. They will be recognized during an event on May 12 at Elizabeth Moore Hall.
Starting July 1, the replacement cost for all WVU ID cards will drop from $30 to $20. There will no longer be a charge for damaged cards, as long as they are returned to an ITS Service Center location when seeking a replacement.
Leslie E. Tower, director of the Women’s Resource Center and professor and assessment coordinator for the School of Social Work, is the recipient of the 2023 Council on Social Work Education Feminist Scholar Award.
