The West Virginia Area Health Education Centers are pleased to announce that applications are open for the Rural Community Health Scholars Program. Two-thirds of the Scholar cohorts over the past few years have been WVU students, and as a result, we are eager to welcome our next group of WVU health professionals.
Dr. Shafic Sraj, associate professor of orthopaedic surgery, was sworn in by President Gordon Gee as the 174th president of the West Virginia State Medical Association at the WVSMA Healthcare Summit held at the Greenbrier Aug. 20-22.
Sponsored by the WVU Office of Health Promotion and Wellness and offered by the WVU Division of Exercise Physiology, the 5% Healthier Initiative is a 10-week personalized exercise coaching program for faculty and staff.
The WVU School of Nursing is hosting this event Sept. 23 for high school seniors who want to obtain a bachelor of science in nursing. The school’s recruitment team and faculty will be on hand to explain the program and the process for applying to the school.
In his latest blog post, Dr. Clay Marsh writes about the pandemic. “We are all waiting to be told what to do. Some want to hear that we are instituting vaccine and mask mandates. Others want the opposite.” He continues that we know what to do. “We get fully vaccinated.”
