OLLI at WVU is seeking volunteer instructors to teach a wide variety of courses for our summer term, including the arts, literature, history, philosophy and religion, current events, political affairs, science, math, health and wellness and more.

Savannah Hays  

A first-generation college student who aspires to become a physician-researcher, will use her role as West Virginia University’s 2021 Newman Civic Fellow to undertake a year-long project to increase access to engineering mentorships for young women in West Virginia. Savannah Hays, an Honors biomedical engineering major in the Statler College of Engineering and Mineral Resources will help form at least two SWENext chapters, the high school equivalent of the Society of Women Engineers, to serve young women ages 13-17.

With the end of the semester in sight, now is a perfect time to experience the great outdoors. The Adventure WV Zip-Line Canopy Tour offers a great experience for those seeking adventure, a day trip or weekend getaway with the family, while taking in the picturesque sights of Almost Heaven.

King Lear Filming  

With restrictions on gathering in place due to the global pandemic, many performances came to a halt in the WVU School of Theatre & Dance. The school teamed up with West Virginia Public Broadcasting to produce King Lear, which will be broadcast across the state later this year.
