Scime named recipient of WVU’s Distinction in Graduate Research Mentoring award Earl Scime, Oleg Jefimenko Professor of Physics and Astronomy, Director of the School of Mathematical and Data Sciences, Director, Center for KINETIC Plasma Physics at West Virginia University, has been named the recipient of the Faculty Award for Distinction in Graduate Research Mentoring.

West Virginia University’s third annual Research Week is set to showcase and celebrate the high-caliber research by faculty, staff and students that shapes us as the state’s only R1 institution. Sponsored by the Research Office and the Office of the Provost, Research Week begins today (April 12), with events each day through Saturday (April 17).

The WVU baseball team took down Baylor, 8-4, on Sunday afternoon at Baylor Ballpark in Waco, Texas. With the victory, coach Randy Mazey earned his 250th career win at West Virginia.
