The Women's Leadership Initiative member drive for the 2021-2022 academic year will end Sept. 3. The WLI requests WVU community members to nominate women for membership to the organization who would benefit from the opportunities, resources, and networking the initiative provides. The WLI also welcomes self-nominations.

Gospel Choir  

Faculty, staff and student vocalists and instrumentalists are welcome to join WVU’s new Gospel Choir. Rehearsals will be held Wednesdays from 5:30-7:30 p.m. in room 2070 Creative Arts Center.

Fall is just around the corner - and so is apple season. The Davis College of Agriculture, Natural Resources and Design is accepting pre-orders for six varieties of apples.

College of Physical Activity and Sport Sciences Ware Distinguished Professor Eloise Elliott was one of four principal writers for the national paper Physical Activity Recommendations for Children and Adolescents: More Important Than Ever. The collaborative effort promotes physical activity and sports for children and adolescents, and provides recommendations to enhance physical activity in schools, communities and homes to improve outcomes.

In his latest blog post, Dr. Clay Marsh writes about the pandemic. “We are all waiting to be told what to do. Some want to hear that we are instituting vaccine and mask mandates. Others want the opposite.” He continues that we know what to do. “We get fully vaccinated.”

As the number of individuals in the United States who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 reached nearly 50 percent, a WVU School of Public Health student was getting a behind the scenes look at vaccine development.
