Genetic Services in Appalachia Seminar Series will continue today (March 1) from noon to 1 p.m. on Zoom. This free session will be led by Kristi Graves who will speak about her federally-funded research in genetics outreach in medically-underserved populations and her previous experience working with the rural, Appalachian population.

Erienne Olesh  

A familiar face in the research and innovation circles of West Virginia University has been named executive director of student and faculty innovation. Erienne Olesh has been tapped to lead this new position – within the WVU Research Office – that aims to advance the development of small businesses commercializing innovations from research and technology generated by faculty and graduate students at the University.

Undergraduate researchers from WVU showcased their work at the State Capitol in Charleston giving lawmakers a glimpse of the work they do in disease-carrying insects, the weather’s effect on renewable energy resources and the economic potential of petunias—just a few of the topics addressed by 49 presenters from WVU’s Morgantown and Beckley campuses.

The Library offers workshops on learning how to use open-source or widely available software for data analysis and visualization. In Spring 2022 we have a series on learning to use R and RStudio, including two special workshops on applying the knowledge you have acquired to perform special functions.
