Undergraduate students may apply to engage in scholarly activity (research/creative work) via the Summer Undergraduate Research Experience program. The deadline to submit an application is March 2.
Faculty are asked to encourage students to apply, and to apply themselves to mentor undergraduates in scholarly activity via the SURE program and to inform their undergraduates that SURE applications are open.
SURE is a PAID undergraduate research experience for students interested in GRADUATE SCHOOL and research/creative work within their discipline or a related discipline. 2022 SURE program dates are May 31-July 29.
Notes:
1) Due to funding limitations, participation in the funded portion of WVU SURE may be limited to one time per undergraduate.
2) The NSF-funded KY-WV LSAMP Alliance provides funding to support an additional 5+ undergraduate STEM majors in SURE who are also (i) underrepresented persons (e.g., Hispanic, African-American) and (ii) U.S. citizens/permanents residents of U.S. or its territories. WVU students who fit these demographics are encouraged to apply to SURE.
