Michele Horvath as been named the director of Export Control within the Office of Research Integrity, Compliance, and Security.
Horvath’s background spans both industry and higher education, with a strong focus on global compliance leadership and supporting complex research environments.
She brings more than 15 years of experience in export compliance oversight, including extensive expertise in federal regulations, such as the Export Administration Regulations, International Traffic in Arms Regulations and Office of Foreign Assets Control requirements.
In her new role, she will provide strategic leadership and oversight of the University’s export control program, ensuring compliance with federal regulations while enabling the continued growth of the WVU global research enterprise.
“We are excited to welcome Ms. Horvath to the Research Office as the next director of Export Control,” said Melanie Page, associate vice president for research integrity, compliance, and security. “She is well versed in federal regulations and will work diligently with our faculty to advance their scholarship while protecting University and national interests.”
