P.V. Vijay, associate professor in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at WVU, has been named an American Society of Civil Engineers Fellow. Vijay was selected for his commitment to the field of civil engineering, mentoring capabilities and his contributions to solving future engineering challenges with emerging technologies in an economical and sustainable way.

WVU will celebrate pioneering work in organic farming during its Organic Field Day from 2-7 p.m. Saturday (Aug. 28). Established in 1999, the WVU Organic Research Farm project compares organic farming systems to assist growers in the transition from conventional to organic farming methods.
The Art Museum of West Virginia University reopened for the fall semester on Saturday with a new exhibition, “Rauschenberg in China: The Lotus Series.” This is the first U.S. venue for the exhibition after debuting in Denmark in 2017. The Art Museum of WVU is open Thursday through Sunday from 12:30 to 6:00 p.m. Admission is always free.
