The second annual WVU Friendship Cup slated for April 22 from 6-9 p.m. at the Student Recreation Fields will celebrate the international student presence on campus. The soccer competition is open to all undergraduate and graduate students; registration is limited to eight teams.
New York collectors James Cottrell and Joseph Lovett have been collecting art for more than forty years, and over that time have developed friendships with many artists—including Deborah Kass, whose painting How Do I Look? is currently on view in True Colors: Picturing Identity among other important works from the Cottrell–Lovett Collection. Celebrate the WVU Community Music Program 60th birthday with the Morgantown Community Orchestra March 27 at 3 p.m., in the Antoinette Falbo Theatre of the Canady Creative Arts Center. The concert will also be livestreamed on the Morgantown Community Orchestra’ Facebook page.
A graduate assistantship position with the WVU Athletics Department propelled Ray Booker, a 2021 sport management graduate, to transition as a student to launching his professional career in the sports field. Booker serves as the stadium and game operations coordinator for the College Football Playoff postseason event that determines college football’s national championship.
Leighann Sainato, who graduated in 2019 with a master’s degree in sport management, is the new West Virginia Black Bears general manager. As the second general manager in the team's history, Sainato oversees a broad range of responsibilities, from budgeting and team travel arrangements to sales and marketing.
